JAGUAR
E Type Coupé
This splendid flat-floor Jaguar is one of the 89 sold by Jaguar of New York in February 1962. Completed on December 21, 1961, in Coventry, it arrived in the United States a few weeks late, probably due to the Christmas holidays.
It was then imported to Europe in the early 2000s and fully restored between approximately 2005 and 2008. At that time, the owner chose a striking color combination, “Opalescent Dark Green” with a “Biscuit” interior, which was available for that year but not the original color it was ordered with when new. The Heritage certificate tells us that it originally came in “Cream” with a red interior and black top. It still retains the original engine, the original bonnet with the applied (not welded) grilles, the original door chrome, and many other details marked 1961.
The car was registered in Italy after the restoration, is registered with ASI, and has obtained the Gold Plate and FIVA certification. It hasn’t been used since 2010, but in July 2024, a major service was carried out to make it ready for use again after the mandatory periodic inspection.
